David Baker

Sergeant Major
Fife

David entered the Junior Corps in the summer of 2003 and the Senior Corps two years later, as a rising 8th grader.  He became Fife Section Leader in 2008 and Sergeant Major in July 2009.  His instructor was William Parks.

In addition to instructing, David especially enjoyed drum majoring the Junior Corps as well as the Senior Corps.  In 2010, he received the Tommy Williams Award and the Outstanding Achievement Award.

His memorable performances include:

     Governor Kaine's Inauguration
     Lexington and Concord
     Godspeed arrivals at various ports
     Jamestown 400th Anniversary and Queen
          Elizabeth II and President Bush
     Macy's Fourth of July Celebration
     2008 Basel International Tattoo
     Today Show from Williamsburg (Sept. 2008)
     Macy's 2008 Thanksgiving Day Parade, 
          as Fife Section Leader
     2009 Norfolk International Tattoo
     Ft. George/Niagara-on-the-Lake
     Governor McDonnell's Inauguration

David graduated from Lafayette High School in June 2010.  He was a member of the National Honor Society and the Math Honor Society.

In 2010, David enrolled in James Madison University.
